For Digital First Media Detroit native and media personality Tiffany Patton is looking forward to having a platform to promote Michigan. Patton has just signed a deal with iHeart Media. This new deal allows her podcast, “On The Go with Tiffany Patton,” to be featured on Amazon Alexa, iTunes and Google play. Patton says she will use it to allow residents of Oakland County to hear from people who are making an impact in their area. “This show will be nationally syndicated,”she emphasizes. “The other parts of the world can hear about Michigan and Oakland County, Bloomfield, Southfield, in ways I know they’re not typically hearing about Michigan. Because for whatever reason, when Michigan is put into the mix they try to make it a negative thing and that’s simply not true.”

Patton plans to showcase some of Oakland County’s most prominent figures. “They can expect names like Sylvia Jordan. (She) was apart of the Southfield Judicial system,” she says. “You can expect the Brenda Lawrences. If we go comedy, the Mike Bonners. He’s a good friend who comes on the show and he’s hilarious. They can definitely hear their own, people who were born and raised in Oakland County, not just people who do business in Oakland County but people who are making an impact ... in a major way. This will also introduce them to the world.”

Patton recalled the day she received news that she would be signing with the media brand.“I got the email on Feb. 22nd, which was a fantastic day because it was also my daughter’s 21st birthday. I woke up to the email like, ‘This is hot. I got two gifts.’”Patton’s podcasts have featured big names such as rapper David Banner and actress Loretta Devine. With iHeart she will have clout to continue booking quality names.“

That’s why I love doing podcasts — it’s helpful ... because it gives everyone a chance to have a voice.I want Oakland County to know if they need anything or a platform to have a voice, they should go with Tiffany Patton to have that platform to use their voice.“Everyone should have their voice heard. On the internet there’s no FCC, so you can come on and have your point made, unbiased and unjudged. It may not be my viewpoint, but it still matters, because we don’t know who else out there may still need the information. So know that your voice matters.”
