After meeting with Eastern Michigan University's newest group WarriHer, I had the privilege of interviewing their founder and president Morgan Randall. Below is our conversation discussing the groups upcoming year along with their future plans as an organization.

A- "what do you feel was missing on campus for you to create an org like this?" M- "We have a lot of Christian organizations on our campus, some of them make one feel like they have to come and be their perfect selves. Also, there really isn't an all women's Christian organization. I'm not trying to exclude men but we as women need to stick together and grow together!" A-"I agree so did you face any challenges creating this org?" M- "One of the main challenges was the self doubt as well as others not believing in me. I learned that I didn't need others approval for the message I received from the man above. I still face many challenges because I'm not where I envisioned myself but it's all about the growth." A- "What's your main message to those looking to join your group? Is there anything they should know?" M- "My message really is like the churches say, come as you. Honestly, you don't have to be your perfect Christian self to be apart of this organization that's the whole point. I want them to grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally, really want them to be empowered to be a better them. Also, I want them to understand the time commitment to becoming a better them as well as being apart of this organization it isn't easy but you'll learn and take away a lot." A- "You volunteered at Owens intermediate school earlier. Do you plan on doing that again?" M- "I actually started back volunteering at the school. I absolutely love it. It is amazing, and the kids are so nice." A- "What typically consists of a mentorship from the Warriher?" M- "Right now our mentorship is in house. It's called "sister sister pairs" and what that means is you get a partner in the organization that holds you accountable for your actions, and help you in your time of needs" A- "Do you partner with anyone when you mentor?" M- "No." A-"How many members are in your group so far?" M- "I have 13 members so far." A- "I heard you talk about not adding too many new members, Why?" M- "I have about 5 more people that would like to join but I don't want too many people because of the different things people will share. intimacy is very important in this organization. I don't want someone feeling like they can't speak and say because of so many people around them." A- "what do you feel would be necessary for this organization to thrive?" M- "Everyone being on one accord, and also putting in work. That's what it's all about in the beginning. There really isn't time to slack you gotta get straight to it."

A- "What was the vision you had in mind while starting this org." M- "My vision was to be a nonprofit organization in the Ypsilanti and metro Detroit areas. I still plan on making this happen, in due time." A- "What are the long-term plans?" M- "Long term, I want WarriHERs to have their own building a safe space for women from everywhere with a spiritual background." A- "any community service work planned?" M- "October is the walk for breast cancer. November is for women so we'll volunteer at a women's shelter. Which I'm excited for." A- "how does religion strengthen this organization?" M- "Religion is the core of this organization. If God is with us, who could ever be against us. I say that because we cannot fail if we put God first, and that's the beauty of it. Yes, problems may arise but we'll conquer.. we're WarriHERs."
